The National Opera is a cultural institution specialising in lyric theatre, based in Athens since 1939. Since 1994, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, it has been a Private Legal Entity, while since 2017 it has been permanently housed at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.
